LogPact exists to be your personal accomplishment record — one that stays yours no matter what happens with any employer. That commitment shapes how we handle your data as much as any legal requirement does. This page explains what we collect, why, and how you stay in control of it.
What we collect
We collect the information needed to run your accomplishment record and nothing beyond it:
- Account information — your name, email address, and authentication details when you sign up.
- Content you create — the wins you log, categories, metrics, notes, and any rubrics or job descriptions you paste in for tailored generation.
- Connected-tool data — if you enable auto-capture, the specific events our integrations are scoped to read (e.g. merged pull requests, closed issues, meeting organizer status). See "Connected tools" below.
- Usage data — basic product analytics (pages viewed, features used, error logs) to keep LogPact reliable and to understand what's working.
- Billing information — handled by our payment processor; LogPact does not store full card numbers.
We do not collect data we don't have a specific product reason to hold, and we do not buy or sell data from third-party brokers.
How we use it
Your data is used to operate the product you signed up for:
- Storing and displaying your logged wins, timeline, and category breakdowns.
- Generating suggested wins, review packets, résumé content, and gap analysis at your request.
- Sending account, security, and (if enabled) reminder notifications.
- Diagnosing bugs and improving reliability.
- If you join a team, sharing the minimal aggregate view your manager sees (see "Sharing and disclosure").
We do not use the content of your logged wins to train general-purpose models, and we do not use your data to serve you advertising — LogPact has no ad-supported tier.
Connected tools
Auto-capture integrations (GitHub, JIRA, Slack, Google Calendar, Jira, GitLab, and others we add over time) are opt-in and use read-only access wherever the provider supports it. LogPact never posts, comments, or takes any write action in a connected tool on your behalf. You can review exactly what's connected, when it last synced, and disconnect any tool at any time from your Connections settings — disconnecting immediately revokes that tool's access token.
AI processing
Generating suggested wins, tailored review packets, and gap analysis requires sending relevant content (your logged wins, and any rubric or job description you provide) to a language model provider under a data processing agreement. That content is used only to generate your requested output — not to train the provider's general-purpose models. Nothing from auto-capture is written to your permanent record without your explicit confirmation; suggestions sit in a separate, reviewable queue until you accept them.
Retention and export
Your wins are retained in full regardless of plan — the free plan's 12-month timeline view is a display limit, not a deletion policy; nothing you log is ever discarded for being on a free account. Full-history export (PDF, markdown, or CSV) is available on every plan, including after cancellation, for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your content is permanently removed from active systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. billing records).
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to your account is protected by your authentication credentials, and access to production data within LogPact is limited to personnel who need it to operate the service. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security, but we treat career data with the same care we'd want for our own.
Your rights and choices
Wherever you're located, you can at any time:
- Export your full history in any supported format.
- Correct or delete individual wins, categories, or connected tools.
- Disconnect any auto-capture integration.
- Delete your account entirely, which initiates the deletion process described above.
- Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR or CCPA — including the right to access, restrict, or object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these.
Children's privacy
LogPact is intended for working professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you by email or an in-product notice before the changes take effect. Continued use of LogPact after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
